Banarasi fabric is mainly made in Varanasi which was formerly called Banaras, from where the silhouette got its name. It is known for its intricate weaving technique, usage of silk threads, and stunning motifs. The dupattas made of Banarasi are known for their stunning designs and have intricate butas as well.
Starting with the most simple and subtle form of styling your Banarasi dupatta is to drape it from the front and pin the border to your blouse or kurta’s straps.
Pakistani fashion is more about rounds and is very easy. Just pin your dupatta on one side of the shoulder and wrap the other around on the back, and keep the dupatta over your head or leave it loose.
To get a modern sniff, simply wear your Banarasi dupatta in the normal way from the side neatly drape it around your waist, and add a belt to get the ‘it’ look.
Drape your dupatta taking inspiration from Sabyasachi models and pin one end of the dupatta from the front and the other at the back covering one hand and a small pin over one of your shoulders.
Great for weddings or festivities, you can drape one dupatta across your shoulder and the other from the back of your shoulder which can be tucked in around your waist.
To make it a more manageable call, you pin your dupatta on one shoulder and let the other end fall on the other hand. You can also drape it over your wrist to get a better hold.
